I now have 3 and am addicted to this gorgeous brand that helps me elevate even the most basic outfit. I’m over the moon that there’s now a brick and mortar for an in person shopping experience - Gwen and her staff are super knowledgeable and helpful and the entire process is also straight up fun. If you’re looking to get a custom hat fitted to you and your personality at a great price point for top quality, look no further.

OBSESSED with this hat store! It is so chic and classy, I spent over an hour admiring all the custom hat options! The staff was super attentive and helped me design a hat with personal touches, like the addition of some beautiful ribbons and a brand of my initials! Booked a private appointment and had the most wonderful time in the store. The team was attentive and really knowledgeable on the different hat styles and recommendations. We got the teardrop straw hat in 3” brim with leather/feather tape. We were able to take the hat home same day and had a lovely afternoon in Greenpoint while the finishing touches were put on. Aside from the hats, check out the candles in store! The products support local businesses. Bonus: we got to meet the founder, Gwen! She was super attentive, hands on and brought the brand to life. Will definitely be back for another hat

The showroom is beautiful, and working with Gwen to try on all the baseline hats, find my fit and aesthetic, and ultimately customize and play w fun finishes was such a treat. Before I found Heads of State, I only wore baseball caps. My favorite part about this company is how fun and easy it is to buy a beautiful custom hat, whether you’ve been rocking hats for years or you’re a newbie like me. The design team at their new store even helped me build a one-of-a-kind ribbon and branded my hat with my initials. I get compliments every time I wear the hat, and I could not be more pleased with it!
