On the New York Sandwich Tour you will visit foodie destinations that only locals know about as you debate the question "is a hotdog a sandwich?" and answer it by eating different types of delicious sandwiches.
In addition, your guide will share stories about the history of the sandwich, New York, and the people who make this food, plus you'll even finish up at a local bar to enjoy a drink as you conclude your fun sandwich debate.
Come with an open mind and leave with a FULL stomach (and an answer to whether or not a hotdog, a burger or a taco is a sandwich).

After moving from Australia to NYC as a lawyer in 2016, a pastrami sandwich changed Ben's (aka 'A Man & His Sandwich') life by convincing him to leave the law and become a New York sandwich tour guide. Since then, A Man & His Sandwich Tours have hosted thousands of guests on their sandwich walking tours and cooking classes.
Our tours work almost exclusively with independent, mom-and-pop restaurants, cafes, and bars to highlight their incredible food, and even more incredible stories, to tourists and locals alike in NYC. Importantly, every tour includes a fun and vigorous debate about whether or not a hotdog, burger, or taco is a sandwich.
Over the past 6 years, A Man and His Sandwich Tours have hosted 25,000+ guests on our sandwich experiences, and have been featured on TV, print, radio, and podcasts to discuss New York sandwiches, including The Morning Show, The Good Dish, Eater, Forbes, BBC and Lonely Planet.
Additional information:
- Ticket price is all-inclusive of food. You will leave the experience FULL, but you won't eat an entire sandwich at each location.
- Tours run rain, hail, or shine. We can stay warm/dry/cool inside sandwich shops!
- Gratuity is not included (or mandatory), but tips are welcomed when you enjoy your experience.
