About this experience partner:

Jake Smith, the owner & operator of Connecting The Dots Fishing Guides, began fishing early on with his father in San Franciso, California. Jake moved to Western North Carolina after graduating from Lindsey Wilson College in 2017 and has been calling the mountains and rivers home ever since.

Connecting The Dots was created after the idea of trying to help others to connect the dots on how to target trout and various other species of fish. Through time on the water, our guides have learned various tactics for fly fishing & light tackle fishing to help you learn how to target fish.

Aside from fishing, Jake Smith is an Eleven Time California State Champion in BMX Racing & and a retired professional Mountain Bike Racer. Jake has a great list of hikes & rides and can always point you in the right direction.

Connecting The Dots Fishing Guide llc is fully insured, licensed, and all guides are CPR and First Aid certified.

    Some of our rivers boast some of the best trout fishing on the East Coast. We specialize in various fishing tactics ranging from dry fly, nymphing, streamer, and spin fishing. Some of the rivers we focus on are the Tuckaseegee River, Watauga River & the South Holston River, which average 9,000 trout per mile. These rivers provide excellent fishing and amazing views and are a great way to spend the day.

    Please Note: We can offer up to six boats per float trip. Each boat accommodates two people to one guide. We provide waders, rods, and terminal tackle. For full-day floats, we provide water and snacks.

    Some meetup locations are within an hour of Asheville, our guides pick locations based on weather and fishing conditions.
