August 3, 2023

Whether you’re looking for clubbing, bar-hopping, an authentic foodie experience, or gorgeous scenery, Nashville is THE spot for a bachelorette party. From the vibrant atmosphere of Broadway to the mouthwatering BBQ to the banks of the Cumberland River, there’s an almost limitless array of options available that will make your party perfect.

And we’re here to help with every last detail of your bachelorette party planning, including helping you pack for your trip. Because the literal last thing you want is to plan for an incredible weekend—and then find out you brought the wrong dancing shoes, didn’t think through the decor, and you definitely should have brought that extra sweater (it can get cold on that riverboat cruise!).

In your suitcase

Let’s start with the basic Nashville bachelorette party essentials—like what to wear on your Nashville trip! Because this is *definitely* the time to go all-out with your fits, but you want to make sure you’re comfortable too. (We all know nothing kills the party spirit faster than shoes that make you want to die.)

Things to pack for your Nashville Bachelorette:

  • Casual, comfortable clothes for exploring the city during the day
  • Your hottest party outfit for going out at night (sequins and glitter encouraged)
  • A light jacket or a sweater—it’s hot during the day but can get surprisingly cool at night
  • A swimsuit if you’re planning on hitting up the Cumberland River or spending time in your hotel pool
  • Matching T-shirts for the whole group (these or these are both cute and totally help carry the Nashville vibe)
  • Themed costumes (we’ve got tons of suggestions for this one)
  • Comfortable walking shoes, whether that means cute sneakers or flip-flops (flip-flops are also mandatory for any water-based activities)
  • Fancy shoes or heels for a night on the town (just make sure they’re comfy enough so you can last all night)
  • COWBOY BOOTS, OBVIOUSLY (we like ASOS and Steve Madden, but don’t forget good ol’ Amazon or eBay!)

For your Airbnb

Is it even a party without over-the-top decorations? We don’t think so! And the good news is there are tons of fun, high-impact decorations you can bring with you—without taking up tons of room in your suitcase.

Here are just a few ideas:

  • Themed balloons (the more, the better)
  • Bachelorette banners you can hang around your place or use as photo backdrops
  • Bandanas—a total cowgirl must
  • Western- or music-themed confetti (which you know you’ll still be finding in your suitcase five years from now)
  • Disposable cameras make for a fun party favor AND for memories you can all enjoy forever (pro tip: make an album with the group’s photos as a wedding gift for the bride!)
  • Nashville-themed photobooth props, because you know you’ll be taking a thousanty photos this weekend
  • Light string or LED lights are a fast and affordable way to pump up the party vibes
  • Bluetooth speakers and games keep the festivities rolling even in between activities
  • Customized drinkware, like water tumblers, wine glasses, or super-cute cowgirl coozies like these or these
  • COWBOY HATS, OBVIOUSLY (these would be adorable, or you could get basic hats like these and bedazzle them yourself)

For your makeup bag

There are three things you should plan for when visiting Nash for a bash:

  • At least *one* person is going to forget some toiletries, so think ahead and pack extra things like toothpaste, face wash, moisturizer, hairspray, shampoo, and conditioner—and expect to share
  • It’s probably going to be hot, so a good setting spray to keep your makeup in place is pretty much mandatory (psst—pack some funky eyeshadow too; a bachelorette is the perfect time to try out a bold new look)
  • It’s probably going to be sunny, so pack lots of sunscreen and apply liberally (and reapply, and reapply, and reapply)

For your bellies

Sticking with the rule of three, let’s talk about what to pack to make sure you’ve got what you need to eat and drink at all times:

  • High-energy portable snacks like granola bars, trailmix, and nuts are easy to stuff in your fanny pack and will make sure you’ve got enough get-up-and-go for a whole weekend of fun
  • Pre-mixed cocktails and drink mixers are a must for a girls night in at your hotel or Airbnb
  • A water bottle and liquid IF are going to be your BFFs the morning after a big night out (or the aforementioned girls night in)

The must-haves

By now your suitcase is brimming with everything you need for a bachelorette blowout … but we still encourage y’all to get rowdy responsibly.

Don’t forget these important items to make sure you’re safe and prepared:

  • Your ID or driver’s license
  • Your health insurance cards (trust us on this one)
  • Credit or debit cards AND some cash, just in case
  • A portable charger for your phone
  • Travel documents
  • Emergency kits (like sewing kits and first aid kits)

Remember, this weekend is all about celebrating the bride, so you can use any of these suggestions and mix and match them for a truly personal, customized experience. And feel free to share this list with the other cowgirls in your party or anyone else looking to plan a Nash bash—we girls gotta look out for each other!
