Where to Stay for Your Bachelorette Weekend in Austin

Airbnb is the way to go in ATX, especially if you have a large group, and you can get a pretty luxurious pad at a reasonable price. But if that's not your jam, you'll also find plenty of stylish boutique hotels to choose from. So where should you drop your bags for your Austin bachelorette party weekend? Here are some areas to consider.

East Austin
Also known as the East Side, this part of town is east of I-35, west of Airport Boulevard, and north of the Colorado River. It's definitely got laid-back hipster vibes, with more affordable prices to boot. You'll want to focus on the parts around Sixth Street, 11th Street, and the East Cesar Chavez enclave to be close to clusters of bars and restaurants.

Hotel picks
ARRIVE Austin: Two restaurants and a rooftop gin bar are great spaces to hang with your babes.

East Austin Hotel: Just five blocks from downtown, you’ll find poolside suites and rooms.

South Congress
Just south of downtown, it's a quick Uber ride to the bustle of Sixth Street, but South Congress Avenue has its own action too. You'll be in the thick of the authentic, weird charm Austin is known for. Browse the cute boutiques, or snap Instagrammable pics of the street art, like the "I love you so much" mural on 1300 S. Congress. Within the surrounding residential area, you're also likely to find an Airbnb with a pool.

Hotel picks
South Congress Hotel: Spots loved by locals, like the South Congress Cafe, will be right at your doorstep.

Hotel San José: This transformed motor lodge gives off seriously hip vibes on its lush grounds.

Downtown
This is where to stay if you want to be walking distance to Sixth Street and Rainey Street, considered the center of Austin's nightlife. Rentals are mostly condos and lofts, which will give you prime views of the cityscape. Just keep in mind that it might be pricier and get a little noisy, but you'll be in a convenient central location.

Hotel picks
Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt: You’ll be around the corner from Rainey Street and can take advantage of the rooftop pool.

The Driskill: For a dose of historic charm, book the 1,200-square-foot Cattle Barron Two Bedroom Suite.

Lake Life
If you want a little more nature, rent a house on one of the area lakes. Lake Austin is close to the city (look into the Tarrytown neighborhood), and you might just spot celebs like Matthew McConaughey and Sandra Bullock, who have homes in the area.

Farther out is Lake Travis (about 45 minutes from downtown), where you'll have beautiful scenery. Plan on hitting up Devil's Cove for a massive floating rager right on the lake — boats tie up together here every weekend from spring to fall.

Bachelorette Party Guide to Eating in Austin

Austin has incredible food and is known for its unique dining experiences. Bachelorette babes gotta eat, and we know just the places to bring your crew.

Breakfast/Brunch
Hillside Farmacy
Housed in an old drugstore, this farm-to-table spot has a delicious brunch menu featuring freshly made biscuits and shrimp and grits.

Fresa's
This colorful outdoor restaurant is an absolute favorite. It has mouthwatering Tex-Mex food with incredible margaritas. But in the a.m. hours, you shouldn't miss the breakfast tacos, which you can get from the takeout window.

Lunch
Perla's Seafood & Oyster Bar
This restaurant offers the most delicious seafood right on South Congress with a lovely oak-shaded patio setting. Share a platter of oysters on the half shell with your girls, or try the fresh prawns or po'boy sandwiches.

Franklin Barbecue
World-famous for its mouthwatering brisket, this delicious spot is also known for its long lines. But there's a way around that! Place a takeout order online in advance to bring a meal back to your Airbnb. There's a 3-pound minimum, so just make sure you've got a big enough group before committing.

Dinner
ATX Cocina
Get a modern take on Mexican fare right in downtown Austin, paired with an extensive tequila and mezcal menu.

Launderette
This retro-chic converted laundromat boasts delicious American food in an extraordinary setting, ideal for an Austin bachelorette party crew.
