Private Custom Mountain City Tour

  • 6hr - 10hr

About this experience

A private tour with WeVenture Denver is always a completely custom itinerary, created just for you and your group! A private tour can be from 6 hours~10 hours, depending on the destination. Pick-up and drop-off locations are your choice. While many visitors to Colorado have specific sites they would like to see, many are happy to let our team create a custom itinerary that fits their interests, budget, mobility, and timeline.

No two groups are alike and we will plan a trip tailored to your group's interests, budget, and needs. Below are some sample itineraries to use as inspiration for your perfect tour:

#Half-Day Tour:
Depending on where you’d like to explore, you’ll head out of Denver and start off with a drive to your first destination. Along the way, you’ll get to know your guide and hear some history about Denver and the surrounding area. As you wind through the quintessential Colorado landscape, you’ll learn about the adventures had by some of the state's most historical characters as well as the modern-day attractions popular with locals and visitors alike.

Colorado’s legacy is tied to the “Pikes Peak or Bust” mining era, so much so that you can find many mountain cities that have ties to that era. But not all of the towns were destined to live past our mining hay-day! Colorado now has almost as many ghost towns as active towns today. Join us in exploring some of these locations scattered throughout the Front Range of the Rockies.

A half-day tour (6 hours) is designed to highlight the best of the lost historical mountain cities. One such popular place is Golden, nestled up against the foothills, a prime place for what was nearly Colorado’s capital. Explore the beautifully preserved campus of the historic School of Mines and hop out of the vehicle to stroll along Washington Street to grab a photo in front of the “Welcome to Golden” sign. We can grab a bite to eat or a snack to enjoy as we wind our way through the Rockies to another town ensconced in the mountains.

Central City, another boom town during the state’s mining days, features Victorian-Era gingerbread houses, historic cemeteries that tell the stories of early settlers, and a main street that has preserved a past of saloons and even casinos.

Among our other recommended destinations is Idaho Springs, known for its iconic highway-side water wheel and hillside Argo Gold Mill and Tunnel. Arrange for entry tickets on this or our full-day experience.

#Full-Day Tour:
A full-day tour (7-10 hours) offers the chance to enjoy plenty of time at the stops you choose. There are numerous quaint, eclectic, and picturesque towns along the way, such as Georgetown, Nederland, and Boulder.

At Georgetown, we can arrange tickets for a short ride – great for all ages – aboard the Loop Railroad and even a mine tour where you can pan for gold! You’ll want to take a leisurely walk along downtown’s tiny main street, which features fountain shops, antique stores, and art galleries.

Boulder is another very popular destination for Colorado-bound visitors, with its many shops, restaurants and breweries, and buskers along Pearl Street. We’ll have a chance to drive to the best viewing spots to awe in wonder at the tilted rock formations known as the Flatirons and drive through “the Hill” area to look at historical homes.

Deeper in the mountains, Nederland is a one-of-a-kind community known for its quirky nature and unusual attractions. Plan your trip to include this pristine town any time of year or during one of its festivals, including Frozen Dead Guy Days!

Whatever the interests of the group and what’s on your wishlist, we’ll make your visit to the Rockies an unforgettable one!
