How To: Decide Who to Invite to the BATCH

Congrats! You’re officially a maid of honor. Not only will you be helping the bride-to-be look fab on her big day, but you also get the super fun part of master itinerary creator for the BATCH. So, let’s talk about the guest list. We can confidently say the tone of a BATCH is set by those who are going. Don’t forget this party is for the bride—it should be those who she wants to be there. Some brides like an element of surprise for their BATCH while some want to be very involved, but it’s safe to say the bride will definitely want no surprises when it comes to who she’s partying with.

Usually the bachelorette party is for bridesmaids and maybe a few of her closest friends and female family members, but this can totally change depending on the type of BATCH. The one thing we will say is sisters and sister-in-laws top the list. On the groom’s side, if he has sisters, gutcheck that relationship with the bride first—it’s always nice to throw that offer out to make them feel included, too

Now onto friends and other family, The answer is short here. Go straight to the bride and feel her out. It’s 100% OK for the bride to let you know how many people she wants at her BATCH. College friends, work friends, cousins, all are fair game but she knows her friends better than you so let her have this one moment of the planning. There’s always that childhood bestie that you’ve never met, so always be sure to make the list and check it twice with her.   

And lastly, one big no-no to keep in mind is NEVER ever invite anyone who isn’t invited to the wedding or showers because that would just be awkward. And now you’re ready to get the party started!
